Ingredients
- 1 tbsp coconut oil.
- 1 lb lean ground turkey.
- 1 granny smith apples, grated.
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard.
- 1/2 tsp dried thyme.
- 1/2 tsp dried sage.
- 1/2 tsp Himalayan salt.
- 1 tsp freshly ground black pepper.
- 4 slices of low fat cheese.
- 4 hamburger buns.
Method
- Prepare turkey burgers by gently mixing ground turkey, grated apple, Dijon mustard, thyme, sage, and a sprinkle of salt and pepper in a bowl. Form into four patties, being careful not to overwork the mixture.
- Heat the coconut oil in a large frying pan over medium-high.
- Cook turkey burgers until cooked thoroughly (centre no longer pink, juices run clear), about 5 minutes per side.
- Add 1 slice of low fat cheese to each burger about 2-3 minutes before it’s finished cooking so the cheese can melt slightly.
