Tumescent Liposuction is a cosmetic surgery procedure under local anaesthetic. It is invasive, and usually performed as an outpatient operation.
The anaesthetic is injected into areas where fat is a problem. The injected areas then swell, making them easier to contour. The surgeon will then cut a hole into the skin where the fat is and insert a tube which then sucks out the fat.
Once the operation is over, it usually takes between four and seven days before the patient can return to a healthy exercise routine.
The cost of liposuction is generally in excess of £2,000 and it often involves time off from work.
